Acids and Bases - The Ritzytown Water Pr 2.1 Acids and Bases The Ritzytown Water Pr 2.1
This computer based instructional software uses tutorials, simulations, interactive exercises, quizzes, and a final project to teach students the basic concepts of acids and bases. The scores of the quizzes and the project can be printed out. The curriculum is broken down into four units: The Dissociation and The Beharior of Water, pH and Calculating pH, The Properties of Water Solutions, and Neutralization and Titration. In the final unit, The Ritzytown Water Projects, students work at a fictional water testing company and use the material learned in the four previous tutorials to take samples, run tests, and make decisions.

   Beating The Yellow Light 1.0
A physics kinematics interactive simulation. Beating The Yellow light uses tutorials, interactive and graphical exercises, and simulations to investigate the design of intersections and the role of the length of the yellow light. This seemingly simple problem is affected by many variables, from the velocity of the car to the reaction time of the driver. Its solution, it turns out, is anything but simple. The main menu leads students step by step through an analysis of an intersection with a stop light and the effect of the timing of the yellow light on the design of the intersection. The sections are: the problem, the solution, two situations, the simulation, reation time, braking acceleration, calculations, and a quiz.

   Physics Mechanics Labs 2.1
A set of ten simulated computer labs that students can run on any PC. All labs include lab write-ups in both Word and PDF format that can be copied and handed out to students and a lab answer key with sample data, graphs, and question answers. Some labs are completed by students almost completely on the computer and the final lab results can be printed out. As one example, in the Terminal Velocity lab simulation, students drop balls of different materials down a tube, triggering two photo-gate timers. By moving the bottom photo-gate, they measure the time at several distances along the tube and can calculate the final velocity at thesel locations. By making a graph of velocity versus time, they can see how the balls approach a terminal velocity. Students must drag and drop each ball, being careful not to break the top photo-gate, not drop the ball too far above the tube, and not hit the sides of the tube

   Ruler Bars 1.0
Did you ever want to know how big a graphic was on the screen or how much room was left on a powerpoint slide? And did you find that the rulers in the program did not allow you to figure it out easilly? If so, you need Ruler Bars. Ruler Bars is a pop-up set of vertical and horizontal rulers that you can drag to any position on your screen. The rulers can easilly be set to measure inches, centimeters, or pixels. After opening the Ruler Bars program, click on the blue button in the upper left hand corner to change the scales and to close the program.

   Significant Digits Drill 2.1
The Significant Digits Drill software includes a series of interactive tutorials and drills on the topic of significant digits. The tutorials and drills covers what a significant digit is, how to use them in math calculations, and how to use them when taking measurements with an instrument. Includes step by step examples. Scores for ech of the drills are stored and shown on the main menu screen.

   Vector MONSTER Lab 1.2
The Vector MONSTER Lab is a set of seven computer based simulated labs that require students to use their knowledge of vectors and other physics concepts. In each lab, students must measure variables and use other given variables to solve vector problems. The software grades the labs and the answers, % errors, and scores can be printed out. Several of these problems require the solution of complicated force equations and are designed for high school honors / AP level or college level students.
